A road is a promise made across distance.
The First Corridor
Keep the Braided Vale connected through rising water, constrained hubs, maintenance pressure, and service choices that cannot protect every route at once.

A LOGISTICS STRATEGY FIELD TRIAL
Waylines is a compact planning game about continuity under pressure. Roads, river service, hubs, maintenance, and weather form one readable system. The trial asks whether you can see the warning, make a tradeoff, and understand the consequence without the map making the decision for you.
ONE CORRIDOR · TWO PATTERNS · VISIBLE CONSEQUENCES
A guided run can be completed in one sitting. Take the warnings seriously, but decide for yourself which connection deserves protection.
Study settlements, hubs, roads, river service, and the warnings already gathering over the Braided Vale.
Build around one of two guided hub patterns. Each protects a different kind of continuity and exposes a different weakness.
Spend limited attention on capacity, maintenance, or resilience before congestion and rising water test the plan.
Use warnings, map state, and the visual history to trace why service held, slowed, or failed—then revise deliberately.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You will compare road and river service, respond to a warned water rise, and choose where limited improvements matter most. There is no combat, twitch movement, leaderboard, or hidden solution.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO TEST
There is no need to optimize the run. Follow the pattern that interests you, then notice where the game helped—or prevented—you from understanding the result.
Do the two hub patterns produce meaningfully different plans?
Does adapting to a warned rise in water feel like your decision?
Are congestion and improvement tradeoffs understandable before they become punitive?
Do replay, visual history, and browser-local continuity make cause and effect trustworthy?
BEFORE YOU ENTER · PRIVATE WORKING BUILD
The trial keeps its gameplay state and history in the current browser. Lantern Arcade does not import Waylines saves, rules, or private records.
